About the Artist
Katherine Curtin was born and raised in Northern Virginia and Denton, Maryland. She graduated with a BFA in Craft and Material Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her work focuses on functional ceramics and reflects her influences from growing up on a family farm. She exhibited her work in a group exhibition in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and completed summer intensives at both Virginia Commonwealth University and the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. She was a teaching assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University for two semesters for the Intro to Ceramics course. She is now working out of her greenhouse in Arlington, Virginia, selling work at pop-ups and a local coffee shop, and teaching both handbuilding and pottery classes.
